Eastcote House Gardens Eastcote House Gardens are a lovely area to walk through to escape the noise and bustle of everyday life. The original house is believed to have been built since before 1507 and was the ancestral home of the Hawtrey-Deane family from 1527 to 1930. The local authority purchased the site in 1938 to protect its historical architecture. The dovecote, walled garden and Coach House all remain but sadly the house was pulled down some years ago for fear of death watch beetle.
Highgrove House Sadly it is no longer possible to tour the house which was rebuilt in the 1870s after a fire damaged most of the original structure. Highgrove House is said to have been the home of the Queen of Sweden during WW1 and also the place where Sir Winston and Clementine Churchill spent their honeymoon.
