An Overview of Our Achievements

2021

  • Sadly the Cornonavirus pandemic and Government restrictions severely impacted NHRAs activities in 2021.

  • We held a number of Committee Meetings online including our 2020 and 2021 AGMs.

  • In November we were able to hold the Annual Grand Switch on of the Northwood Hills Christmas Tree Lights which was extremely well supported by the community and help by perfect weather.

2020

  • In January having made a small surplus, after costs from the 2019 Christmas Lights event we donated £200 to The Mayor of Hillingdon’s Charity.

  • At the beginning of April it had been our intention to donate £1,000 to the 2nd Northwood Scout Hut Appeal, which was due to launch. However, due to that project being delayed by the outbreak of “Coronavirus” the Committee decided to delay that donation until April 2021.

  • In order to support the local community at this time, as our funds will not be used in the usual way, we decided to donate all membership fees and donations received between 1st April and 30 June to a NHS local project (yet to be identified). The amount raised came to exactly £1,500 and the Committee subsequently agreed to ring fence that money to purchase a piece of equipment for the new Health Centre when it opens.

  • In May the Committee agreed to purchase a new TV Monitor for the Ruislip Woods visitors centre which would show a live stream from inside the bird boxes previously donated in memory of Robert Symes.
